About the Dead Rail Society™

A few years ago, a group of San Diego model railroading friends were musing over a beer or three about the ills of powered track: dead spots, shorts, complex wiring, reversing loop wiring, etc. 'If the large scale guys can run on battery power and radio control, why can't we do it in smaller scales?', they wondered.  Thus was born the Dead Rail Society™, created by founders Justin Rasas, Mike Pfulb, Dave Balser, Duncan McRee, Pete Steinmetz, Bob Treat, and Jim Noel. 

These days, we run our model trains without all those frustrations. Batteries and radio control are the answer. The large scale modelers figured this out years ago, and now we're successfully running battery trains in much smaller scales. Dead Rail™ is the future of model railroading. Join us!
